Finally Team 5401 has come back, to BHS!
IF YA SMEEEELL, WHAT FRO, HAS COOKING!
But all jokes aside, on August 17th 2016 we moved from our temporary space at Shafer Middle School to our new space at BHS. The long awaited permanent space is finally completed and ready for us to move into. Our new space is a refurbished gym we share the engineering department and it’s connected to a soon to be computer lab, storage closet, with a full stock of plywood and other necessitates. Across a hallway is a fully decked out machine shop with three mills (our current mill, old mill, and a mystery mill), a welding hood, wood cutting machinery and all of the machinery we’ve had. We hope to also be able to put in a full field, unlike in our original space that could only fit half a field.
At 3pm the team packed up all the equipment that we had and put it in a moving truck. It took about half an hour to move all of the tools, the parts cart, practice Tim’s frame, pit frame and all the other things we brought with us into the moving truck. After everything was packed into the truck, we locked the room and headed over to BHS to unload the truck into Studio 5401. It took another half hour to unload and arrange and store things out.
We are now official prepared for the school year with a meeting on the 31st for returning members and a meeting on the 7th for new members. We will also be at the middle school back to school nights with Tim for demos.
