Hataboro Horsham!
Hello everyone. Over the past weekend Team 5401 had its Hataboro Horsham competition. While we didn’t earn any awards, or make the playoffs, we still did amazing for ourselves and learned a lot from this experience. Firstly; the matches that we were fulling functional, we not only did well, but we excelled at scoring, crossing and challenging! So why didn’t we get onto an alliance? Quite a few matches things went awfully wrong from the SPT not being installed to the entire robot being completely bricked. Also the the pit was deemed by the safety officials to be very much unsafe and made us tie up our streamers and mentioned the are wiring needed work. While these may be terrible setbacks, it’s important to learn from these defeats and continue to move forward with our heads held high.
However, the entire competition wasn’t completely bad. Scouting went much better from last years chaotic scrambling to this year’s use of a app on IPads. There was also a system in place for a rotation of scouters. Also spirit was a lot louder and we could actually be heard on recordings of the competition matches.
On a side note, thanks to all the parents that brought food, stayed in the cafeteria all day and supported us. We hope to see that the parents continue their support in the future at Westown in the first weekend of April.
On March the 9th, the team all came together to debrief about what happened and how to really move forward from here. The parts cart is getting a table added to it, the common bumps faced at Hatboro will be ironed out come Westtown, and there are plans for class style sessions to start up at the of the season.
Thank you all for your continued support of Team 5401 and continue to watch out for updates in the coming weeks.
GO FRO!
