Week 2: Stuff Got Did

Over the course of this week much has been done but, Team 5401 will not meet on Friday or over the weekend due to snow warning. ;-;

Even though our weekend meetings are canceled, big things that are happening here because we got a HUGE shipment of parts that included most of the bits and pieces we will need to make the robot a robot. This includes stuff to help us build and code the drive base. Oh wait.. already done! We have also made some progress on the shooting mechanism and we finished our frame rails.

On a funnier note, our Safety Generalissimo, oops I mean Safety Captain; is taking his job a bit too seriously. Notepad in hand to give out tickets, he is all about staying safe. Or at least having power over people. He even created the Purple Battery Award to give out to those on the team who get injured learning a valuable safety lesson. Now with applications for this award in hand, he’s a little too eager for the first injury of the season so he can use it to lecture us on the importance of safety.

Joking aside- Jimmy James is great Safety Captain and he has a lot of great ideas that he will be implementing over the course of the season. Stay tuned for a future post from him ALL about safety!
