Name: Gavin Hinshaw

What Grade are you in?: I’m a Junior.

Team Status: I’m on Business, Assembly, Safety Committee and Outreach. I’ve been on the team three years.

Accomplishments: I represented the team at Duel on the Delaware, I was a pit alternate during our last season, and I’m very involved on the team.

How has being on Team 5401 impacted your life?: It’s an outlet for me to meet new people, a place to be. When my parents were going through a divorce, going to the World Championships really helped me through it. It really is a place where my views matter. It’s a place where people care about me.

What are your views after highschool? Has being a part of this team affected your way of thinking of the future? If so, how?: I plan on going to college, Drexel is my top choice at the moment. I plan on majoring in electrical engineering, then entering the field or enlisting in the US Navy. Originally, I wanted to do graphic design or computer programming, but since being on the team and attempting being a Frogrammer I realized it was not for me.

Whats your trademark saying the team knows you by?: “YOOOOOOOOO!” or “That’s not my hip.”
